Since the beginning, our mission has been to make First Aid and Safety training easily accessible to all. We know how important it is for everyone to learn life-saving skills and preventions, especially around children, who are more susceptible to breathing emergencies. Our mission led us to create our condensed and cost effective workshops for caregivers and to offer our First Aid and CPR certifications partially online. We’re excited to now offer our CPR and Choking Workshop online so Canadians everywhere can keep the little ones in their lives safe!
Our online CPR and Choking workshop includes everything that participants learn in our in-person workshop with even more background information and prevention strategies!
The COVID-19 outbreak is an especially important time for parents to prevent and prepare for medical emergencies at home. Children are out of school and daycare and spending more time at home than ever! We wouldn’t send our children to a school or daycare without staff trained in First Aid. Parents and all caregivers also need to be prepared and educated. Preventing emergencies at home is more important than ever to reduce the strain on hospitals and our healthcare workers.
We recommend that parents, grandparents, babysitters, older siblings, aunties, uncles, and everyone with a child or baby in their life take this course!
This workshop was designed by our certified Red Cross First Aid instructors. It includes practical demonstrations in videos, in-depth explanations in text, fun activities for learners, and quizzes to enhance learning. We’re including the additional bonus to ask questions, chat, and connect with our instructors upon completion!
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE COURSE
Prevention strategies, early recognition, and life-saving skills for an infant or child who is choking
First Aid skills for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), conscious and unconscious choking for babies and children
Step by step guide of all skills covered for participants to print and/or save for continuous learning
Introduces and teaches parents/ caregivers life-saving First Aid education from a practical, hands-on, and easy to follow approach.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
A teddy bear or doll (yes, we still be doing practical activities like CPR and choking first aid throughout the course)
A device, such as a phone or a laptop
A good internet connection
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I’M FINISHED
WITH THE COURSE?
You will have access to our CPR and Choking Fact sheets that include a step by step guide of all skills covered and an overview of the course content. Participants can print or save the PDF for continuous learning.
You will also receive a certificate of completion that’s valid for 1 year. We recommend an annual review.
